I DID IT AT LAST - amongst other things!

At last I have my bunting up in my quirky corner
I bought the material last Summer
but I am just not a sewer and then with the very cold and wet Spring I just could not get my self motivated to do it.
However with a heatwave for over a week now (90f today) and forecast to last until August it was now or never

Very Patriotic I have to say

Having removed and grassed over one of the old rose beds
it became obvious that this space would be ideal for the main table, out of the way and in the shade most of the day

The weather being so hot we have taken all our meals out here this last week and enjoyed the new vista even though the blossom has all 'gone over' and the lawn is browning up in the heat

The new roses in this old bed are coming up nicely now

A great contrast to the more delicate colours in other beds
I really do want to get on posting holiday pics
but could not wait to show my handiwork

Your buntings looks great ... love the choice of materials. I've started some bunting out of crochet triangles ... but there is always something else that needs doing. Perhaps this winter I will get it finished.

Love the patriotic addition to your garden area. I enjoy eating outside and you have a lovely, shady spot. When is that Royal baby coming? Is everyone all excited? Our news stations can't get enough...they are posting reporters there now.
Enjoy your garden spot...Balisha

Congratulations on the sewing--it looks great! I am a seamstress, so I can appreciate the work that went into it! I haven't seen garden buntings here in the U.S. yet. I was going to comment on the colors--red, white, and blue, being patriotic for us when I realized your flag has the same colors! A close up of the fabric showed me it is truly patriotic for you! Lovely garden and beautiful roses. Lovely addition to your corner.

Very patriotic indeed, I love it. Your garden is looking wonderful. Isn't it great to actually sit out there this year, after so many washout summers in recent years

They are beautiful, Barbara, but, I didn't know the English called them buntings, we call them pennant banners. You've taught me many things from reading your blog. Have a Blessed day, Trisha

Those roses are simply glorious and I wish I could smell their fragrance too. I love that bunting, and thank you for the close up of the prints and their patriotic red white and blue theme. I remember that former rose bed very well, but it does seem like the perfect spot for your table now.

Beautiful yard, and it's ready for a party with bunting and all.
Talk about HOT. Maine has had the worst heat spell, maybe
rain today will cool it off.
Enjoy your Summer and your talented
sewing,, yvonne
