A Change of Scene at Rifleman Cottage

Here we are again at Rifleman's Cottage
These lanes (and many are even narrower) can be hair raising when someone comes in the other direction
Quite a bit of time can be spent reversing or
sometimes the vehicle coming in the other direction will reverse and let one through

As Alan begins to unload the car (top left hand corner)
I admire the Lupins that seem to be standing to attention to welcome me

Go to this link if you were not around last year and want to see lots of pictures of the cottage and grounds

The first thing is a cup of tea. Only an hour away from home but we have made some visits on the way

and would you believe it - it is June and we needed a fire the second evening
Oh! Dear this photo shows how addicted I am to my laptop and Blackberry!

Third day was warm and sunny and here is yours truly enjoying a mug of tea outside after a long day out

As usual lots of photos to come when I get to sorting them

It looks beautiful (unfortunately I cannot make the link work or I would be looking at more garden shots) the lupins are stunning. The flowers on the dresser are very pretty. Who would have thought it, a fire at this time of year. It gives a whole new meaning to blazing June!

What a beautiful place to be. I always take my laptop and phone with me where ever I go too. Can't be without them for sure. Hope your stay is a wonderful one. I'll be looking for your pictures.

A lovely setting for a getaway. And the china in the cupboard - so pretty! The Old Country Roses is my mother-in-law's pattern, now divided among her granddaughters.

Wonderful photos Barbara. The cottage looks like a great place to spend some time. Would enjoy that myself. Have a great week.

We had a terribly hot day here last week, but it has been lovely and in the 60's the rest of the week and will be this nice for another week.
I'm not a fan of summer, other than the stone fruit and local veg. I'm always longing for Autumn - my favorite season.

Oh those country lanes are beautiful but I do not enjoy driving them!! the cottage certainly looks a beautiful place and there's nothing like a cuppa in the garden :))

Beautiful lupins! A cup of tea before the fine sounds cozy. I am happy to see you also enjoyed some sunshine.

That reminds me of some of our terrible Cornish lanes, hair raising when you meet a tractor!

What a pretty place -- and a lovely indoor retreat for cooler temperatures!

Hi Barbara from far off Alberta, Canada. We have much in common including our Queen.
I found your blog at Lines from Linderhof and visit your site now and again. I enjoyed reading about your faith journey because I love the same Christ.
Along with that I love tea, flowers and gardens as well as food as you can see if you visit my blog ... blessings, Judy

It looks like a beautiful place. I hope the weather warms up so you get a great chance to get out and enjoy it.

I've been on some of those lanes in Scotland - positively terrifying!

Even though it's a difficult and treacherous lane, it makes for a great photo.
What a lovely cottage that is--and I'd have my laptop and phone with me too if I were there.
