My Garden 2018

I have finally got to posting some photos of my garden this year. Chosen just a few to give some idea of how the year has progressed

Things start to perk up when the Crab Apple blossom starts to open up

and without wishing my life away my thoughts turn to welcoming the Summer roses and more

!
We have over the last two years removed 15 shrubs from the garden in order to make it more manageable as we get older.
Less shrubs for me to prune, but more lawn for Alan to mow. I think I got the best deal!

We got there in the end
Wasn't sure if I would like the open spaces but now that I have got used to them I do

What a beautiful garden Barbara !
So many varieties of flowers, and endless color.
Your hardscape compliments your plantings, a serene and pleasant place to sit and ponder.
Thank you for sharing such beauty.
Hugs

Keeping things simpler as we age is a must. Even though you may have taken a lot out, it is still a very beautiful garden. Here everything is fast fading as is the way with Autumn. Colder nights and less sunshine in the day is making the leaves on the trees change to some beautiful colors though.

There is a particular blessing in being able to embrace each season. I must remember this when winter comes. I dread it so.

Your garden is beautiful. You and Alan do an amazing job of keeping it maintained and looking so nice. The roses...ahhhhh!

Hello Barbara, your garden is as lovely as always, even with fewer bushes and shrubs! It still looks like a lot of work to me but certainly worth it for all that beauty. I hope life is being good to you and Alan these days.

Also, I have changed my blog address, just letting you know. If you were following the old one it no longer exists.

Love to you both.

Your roses are beautiful. I love the dark wine-coloured one next to the white one. Such a lovely contrast. Yes, making things easier for when we get older is a good thing to think of. Your garden is looking well.

What gorgeous flowers. I like open lawns mainly because I don't do grow many flowers with our clay soil.

Your garden looks beautiful and good you have less work to do Barbara.

Your garden is lovely. We are going to have to figure out some labor savers for our plot of land!

Ramblings from an English Garden is the most perfect title for your blog. Your garden is very pretty and I love the groupings of roses and the fish pond.
It is all so beautiful and is so well maintained.
Wonderful Barbara.
