Wells-Next-the-Sea
a fishing and harbour town on the North Norfolk coast
We made a quick visit here on our way to Holkham Hall which is just a couple of miles along the coast
Something different - a boat cafe
where as well as serving seafood they are known for Traditional Dutch Pancakes.
However I found the private Beach of Holkham Hall much more enjoyable.
Will be sharing this in the next Norfolk post before sharing with you the delights of Holkham Hall

Somewhat familiar scenes, though I have never seen Dutch pancakes advertized on the coast. I do love them, though!
I wonder, do you and Alan ever feel nostalgic around boats and ships and seaside docks, considering how you spent the first year of your marriage at sea (if I remember correctly)? Again, it's lovely to see blue skies and sunshine by the seaside. And now I shall have go to and research what a Dutch pancake might be.
Lovely scenery. That is interesting to have a boat cafe. Seems like seafood should be very fresh! :)
Just catching up on your posts and I find myself:
grateful I do not have to maintain some of the amazing properties you showed,
appreciative of the natural beauty...even the heron :)
and pondering the design of that green bathtub!!! xx
Ah, the favorites of our grandsons, pancakes. Love to see the blue skies, boats and the sea in this time of year.
I can never get enough of the English geography--so beautiful everywhere!
Merry Christmas to you and your christian friends
may you have a peaceful time

Ooh, yes, I totally know that town and the surrounding area. We used to go there as kids and then again when visiting my mother and fam as adults. Such a lovely sandy beach there adn that amazing forest nearby.
If you ever get a chance, do go to Holt in Norfolk. there is a fabulous tea shop there called, The Owl. It's been there since I was a little boy. Wonderful village and wonderful teashop.
