A Walk Around Southwold

On our way to Aldburgh we drove a little further up the coast for a walk around Southwold. It is very different to Aldburgh but nevertheless has a flavour of it's own.
A very interesting feature is the fact that the lighthouse is in the town and not perched on the edge of a cliff as most are.

My plan here was to take you with me on the walk. However I am still figuring out the workings of this 'blogger in draft' format so in order to do this you will need to scroll to the end of the post and do it backwards in order to accompany me from start to finish. Blogger altered the positioning of my photographs and is not letting my move them.

Back to the car and on to Aldburgh

An interesting store cupboard in the tea shop rest room

Having brought a picnic we ate it here before commencing our walk

Lovely photos as usual Barbara! Those cabins at the beach have always fascinated me I love them, are they used for changing facilities only or can you overnight in them or are they too small for that purpose?

Barbara, you have me smiling at your solution to the Blogger in Draft dilemma. It doesn't matter, backwards or forwards it's all good. I rather like the lighthouse in the center of town even if it is not quite as sensical as a different location. Lovely community and I very much enjoyed the tour.

It's looking lovely here with all the changes.

Thank you for the beautiful walk. It is such a nice place to visit. I loved seeing your part of the world. I'm a great armchair traveler.

That is interesting! A lighthouse in the middle of the town is unusual. It is a beautiful little town. Were those beach houses in the row?

I have learned that the first picture you put on will actually come up as the last one!
It looks a most interesting place to visit.

I do like that place. My fav pics were the ones of the beach huts. I've always wanted one of them preferably on a beach somewhere so I could just pop inside if it got too cold. I wish you could camp overnight in them like in a play shed. :-)

It looks like a popular place to walk, and I can almost smell the salty sea air. I was interested to see there aren't many flower gardens there. The line of red tulips was very pretty though.

I am always fascinated to see the people in photos who are watching their photo being taken...like that group eating their lunch outside the Sole Bay Inn; wonder what they are thinking?

Gorgeous! What a lovely locale. I have seen pictures like that . . . must have been in my favorite magazine British Country Living.
I love your garden. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for this amazing walk this morning!

I too am trying to figure out this new format. I've learned to type my text first and then place your curser where you want your photo to show up and then upload the photo, it should land where you placed your curser. If not you can grab the photo and move it up or down, with a little effort thought I must admit, good luck. :)

Love the bright happy colours mixed with the historical buildings! That's why we painted our house blue in a gray and brown neighborhood!!!

I haven't even tried the new draft yet! Not sure I want to now.
