Life This Week

After more torrential rain over night we finally got some sun. It began with a most beautiful sunset on Friday evening. It has been a busy week. A wonderful 3 course meal together with our House Church in one of our homes, a party, a Barbecue, a day spent with dear little Oliver and then a great breakfast together in another home with our house church this morning before a wonderful time of prayer and sharing and encouraging each other in our individual giftings. Having lunched I am ready to get out into my garden to soak up some sun. I have a host of things I can take out there to do, the priority to set up my new (Christmas present) phone. Something I keep putting off as I still have money on my old one. I may even sit under the tree and read later. Not easy for me to do when I can see the weeds. We'll see.

Oliver is now 22 months old. He loves his books and could stock a library with his shelf and box full. He can now count to 6 and is a little action man. I am not a 'sit back and watch Grandma', I get involved with everything he does, running up and down the garden, rolling on the floor, taking him out in the pram, playing with him in the park and joining him in the children's playground. Why do I feel exhausted at the end of the day I wonder. After waiting so long to be a Grandma I see every moment as a blessing.

Walking through the park with Oliver I could not resist this beautiful carpet where the Azaleas had shed their petals.

Nor the restaurant where we had our ice-cream.

Those blossoms are all so beautiful. The white ones are incredible...that first shot is my favorite - what are those? They have a very interesting look.

The azalea trees and pools of color underneath are also stunning...I am newly amazed at how many gorgeously colored trees we see this time of year. Due to blogging and my digital camera, I note them much more closely than I used to do.

Thank you, Barbara, for the award; I feel honored.

“I may even sit under the tree and read later. Not easy for me to do when I can see the weeds. We'll see.”

That put a big grin on my face. I try to plan some down time in the garden, but it never fails, I get up and wander around always up to some little task or so…even if it is just trimming off a few old blossoms. I find it just plain hard to sit out there.
Read a book in the garden, I don't think I have ever been able to do much of that...yet isn't that part of why we labor so hard is to sit back and smell the roses? Something I must think more about :0)

Barbara thanks so very much for honoring me with this blog award. It really does bless me!

Oliver looks like he really is enjoying his library! I am so glad you enjoy him so very much!

What a beautiful sunset :) And I love that little picture of Oliver and the books. When my little one was that age, he LOVED to pull ALL of his books off the shelf. A few months ago he asked if he could have the bookshelf back in his room (several years ago we took it out of his room because of the daily mess). I'm happy to report that although we are still reading together, there is less book mess. He is happily past the book pulling off stage :)

Take care and have a nice day Barbara!

Please go back to my brookville daily photo blog as I have added a photo.

Now if you look at the page I have put a clickable thumbnail on it that shows you what the Pinky Winky looks like. The branches are still a pink color.

What a pleasant post and a neat surprise at the end...thank you!

Oliver's pic is so sweet as he kneels among his books looking for just the right one.

Yes, being a grandmother is a great blessing. I am glad that you are a busy, active one!

Lovely photos, especially the azalea carpet. I can see why you couldn't pass that up. What a precious, precious picture of Oliver amongst those books. I couldn't imagine being a happier child than to have been surrounded by so many wonderful friends (books.) And of course getting to spend the day with Grandma would top the list! Sounds like you are one terrific Grandma, too, doing the park and reading, etc. He is blessed to have you...

I look forward to checking out the blogs you have awarded.

Isn't being a grandmother great---and exhausting? My grandkids love reading too and I spend a lot of time doing that with them. I have the greatest photo of me reading to three of them. I love the expressions on their faces, totally lost in the story.

Wow, that ivy covered building is outstanding. I've never seen anything like it. Barbara, just returned from a trip to the California coast. Lots of flowers there. Please stop by for a visit and enjoy. Annie

As much as I personally yearn for involvement in "House Church", it is that good to read of your experiences. I was tagged recently, and of course that means tagging others. I am tagging you. Please see my blog if you think you might like to participate.
