London on an April Sunday Pt. 6

Here we have some of London's 'Freeze Artists'

They are usually students earning some extra cash

Filled my pocket full of coins and dropped some in each pot

in order to take a photograph

How they stand still for so long I do not know

It would also be interesting to know how long it takes them to

get ready

Must take forever to remove the body paint too

This one was clever as the tiny model mimicked the artist

Darth Raider believed me when I said I was frightened!

He said, 'It's ok there is no need to be!

This one was weird and a bit disconcerting

Looked like a monkey but it was the head of a man

obviously sitting inside a box

Life seems to have taken over big time recently

and there has not been much time for blogging

Hope to remedy that soon 

London on an April Sunday Pt.5

 Watching the Trooping of the Colour on TV this morning gave me the impetus to get on with posting more on London. I still have 80 photographs from just one day in April
The Trooping of the Colour is a yearly event and I think spectacular
How 250 horses can be trained to behave so well and to think that some of the horses are steered by the riders legs only as they use their hands to play instruments as they parade around Horse Guards Parade in front of the Queen whose birthday they are acknowledging.
I have never seen one horse or one soldier out of place
Our Queen is 85 and Prince Philip 90


Many people do not realise that in all the pomp and circumstance that these are regular soldiers serving in places like Afgh*anistan


We have the added fun of often seeing some of the planes from the flypast as they fly back to base over our home
Well, back to London in April

Here we have left The Mall and are crossing the road to

Trafalgar Square

It seems today that the square is full of demonstrations and protesters of one kind and another.

Many people are sitting watching

in front of The Walker art gallery 

We leave the square walking towards St. Martin in the Fields Church

before walking down the Strand which will be another post

The Winner and My Garden

I am so glad that Susan won this give away as life is very difficult for her at the moment having just lost a dear daughter

Apparently our Spring was the dryest and hottest since records began in 1556

I'll share with you some random photos from my garden from this week. At the moment it is raining and I am sure the blooms are dancing! 

I am sure everything will look fresher and there will be more blooms after the rain which is forecast for tomorrow too
