Colouring to Relax

I really enjoy colouring but am not good at setting the time aside to do it. This book called the Secret Garden is wonderful as it is so detailed and intricate but it can take a long time to finish a page like this.
I do have other books but I can quickly get bored with the simpler ones.

As other colouring fanatics will know, it is very, very relaxing having to totally concentrate.

Another thing I find relaxing is my new wall hung fire.
Was really worth getting rid of a chair for.
This sun room is where I sit and read but having a flat roof it can be quite cool in the winter, even though there is a large radiator along one side, and especially in the freezing temperatures that we have had this year, as it has a flat roof.
So all set now for when I don't want to spend an evening in the sitting room watching TV.

Hello Barbara.
That looks like a wonderful coloring book. Adult coloring is a big hit across the pond. My grand-daughter loves to color. Think I will buy her one of these more complicated coloring books for her. Your fire unit looks really nice. I can see how you'd enjoy both.
All the best to you.

My coloring book is simpler than yours and is all I can handle. I think that defeats its purpose. I like your fireplace!

I am like you, I love colouring but never set myself time for it.

Looks like a good spot to sit in warmth and color. So many great adult coloring books available these days.

These adult coloring books are becoming very popular. The detail in yours is amazing and looks like something you could even frame when its done. You are accomplishing two things at once...stress release and artwork, all rolled into one!

I have had this secret desire to start coloring again, but have held off. Too much other things to do. I have been watching "Victoria" on PBS here in the states, and I think of you often. I feel I should live where you live, to truly enjoy this history every day. I have learned so much about the Kings and Queens and enjoy it so much.

I've heard that the coloring is so relaxing. I must give it a try.

The wall fireplace looks so toasty and warm. Bet it feels great too.

I enjoy coloring, too. In fact my husband tells people that I came out of the womb with a box of crayons in my hands and I was singing a show tune, LOL. Your fireplace is beautiful . . . Enjoy, that's what life is all about :)

What a gorgeous job you did on the coloring. I have seen those coloring books everywhere these days but haven't given them a try. I do know it would be very relaxing to just concentrate on that along and get lost in the task. Your fireplace looks nice and cozy.

I love your coloring book! I have been coloring but, like you, I don't set aside time to do it often. Your fireplace is wonderful! I would sit there for hours on end to enjoy the heat and comfort it gives.

Oh, I just love these adult coloring books. Have you seen the ones with scripture verses? Lovely things. My 19 y-o daughter has one of the scripture ones, and she loves to take a break from her studies and de-stress by coloring them. As always, blessings to you and yours.

It's great now they have colouring books for adults. I always used to feel a bit guilty colouring in with children & grandchildren. They are brilliant for plane journeys too. I bought my granddaughter one with some lovely gel pens & smiled when I watched my daughter joining in the fun colouring with Lauren on the plane.

Love your fire too. Very swish!

My daughter loves to colour to relax, too. Instead of colouring, I knit :)

Your new fireplace is such a nice addition to your room.
I like your colouring book. It does look very intricate, I wouldn't be able to focus on the images, but you certainly can. I crochet or knit, just little scarves or hand warmers.
