Decorating, Carpets and Curtains - Feels Like a New House (and Garden)

It's 2 weeks now since we finished decorating and had new carpets downstairs. I promised I would show the make-over.

The burgundy tie-backs are the only new accessory which I thought tied in well with what I already had.

All looking much lighter, brighter and airier. I have enjoyed my navy theme but changing to a light theme makes it all feel new. I have managed to keep navy and burgundy accessories as I did my best to tie it all in with what we already had.

The garden is colouring up too and it certainly looks new in design having removed so many shrubs

The first show of roses at the back accompanying the damaged fence from the Spring storms

A 'finger' painting to match the garden done on my i-pad
with 'Meritum Soft'
I am working on catching up with everyone and I do need to post on the rest of last years trips.
I'll get there eventually!

Barbara, everything looks fabulous...so very light and cheery. The floors, the walls, everything! Change is good even if we think it'll kill us. I'm sure a few weeks in and you were more than ready to have it done. Now you can smile and enjoy. It looks as if you have lots of room for guests and with your penchant for hospitality, I know that will come in handy. The garden looks lovely now that you can see way down to the end. May you find hours and hours of enjoyment there.

It all looks lovely Barbara. I like the light and airy feel of it. It was fun to peek at your newly decorated rooms and remember our visit there. Looks like you've weeded our some of your books, and added a TV in the dining room. I like your color scheme.

It's looking good, Barbara. Isn't it a relief when the decorating is done.
Your roses are much further on than mine. There are lots of buds here, but so far they are refusing to open, despite me checking several times a day!

Wonderful, you all did a great job, inside and out!
Now you can literally sit down and enjoy your labour's fruit,
hugs and best wishes,

How bright, airy and fresh it all looks. You must be thrilled to have the work completed so you can get on with living in your space. Lovely to see the yellow rose blooming, too.

That does look lovely Barbara as you say, light & airy. Now were those Ercol chairs I spied?

I've had a go at painting the bathroom & our bedroom before I start my travels. Just got finished in time. Think the next time I'll be paying someone to do it, don't like climbing about now.

I agree with the other bloggers, it looks nice and cheerful inside and out. I know both require a lot of work and now you can relax and enjoy it for a bit, but know the gardening keeps you busy this time of year. Interesting seeing your painting on the iPad as I have got a couple of artistic apps I need to play with and learn how to use them. Amazing what can be done isn't it?

Hello Barbara!

I can hear that sigh of relief and satisfaction all the way across the pond :-) So glad you have your place back together and enjoying new decor with old comforts. The garden is looking terrific with that abundance of foliage color.
