How I love roses!
The roses out front are doing well too though since this picture was taken we have had lots of torrential rain which makes the flower heads heavy
Last year's new bed - hard to remember the multi-coloured bed that was there before
Lots of yellow at the bottom
The difference a week makes
I do love the Salix at this time of year (behind the Diablo on the right)
so decided to plant 2 new ones
this one to replace a 'past it's best' Rosemary in the Herb bed
and this one to replace a clipped Euonymus
You can see this year's new rose bed in the centre but I think it will be a couple of weeks before there is much colour there
Roses in the new 'red' bed start out like this
and when fully open look like this
6 inches across and dwarfs the mug alongside it
My daughter, Grandchildren and Son-in-Law enjoying lovely weather in Cornwall in the South West while we have had a very wet week with torrential rain and hail stones in the South East

Your roses are way ahead of ours, and the red one is absolutely lovely. I would like to know which variety it is.
We have had good weather here in Cornwall this week, except for the Bank Holiday weekend which was very wet. How nice for your family to be in our lovely county.
Your roses, garden, family all beautiful. Your garden is such an inspiration. I know it is a lot of work but you must get so much enjoyment out of your garden as well.
England is sure the place to grow roses. Yours are beautiful, we are having some problems with disease the first blooms were lovely but now not so.
You have a great looking family.
What a beautiful family picture! The roses are glorious...I love the drift of colors. Hope that the sun shines soon for you. We are stuck in rainy weather and have just this one sunny day before we go back into another week of rain. When my roses bloom, they might be happy. Not as happy as yours!
Your roses are stunning. This post makes me want to go out and get another rose bush for my garden.
Your daughter resembles you.
Your garden is awash with roses - and they are all beautiful. Those six-inch ones must be magnificent in person.
Love Jane's shorter hairstyle on her. They make an attractive family. Look at those smiles!
Love the pink and yellows together! The roses in the last picture sure are happy ones. Makes me smile to see theirs.
Hugs
Your roses are gorgeous! I've never seen such large flowers. What are they called?
Barbara, your English roses are something very special. You are wonderful at growing them. I enjoyed the garden photos very much.
How lovely! Is there anything more evocative of an English garden than roses? Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful photos! -Beth
I can almost smell those gorgeous roses through my computer screen :) And I love seeing your happy family! Thanks for posting, Barbara. xx
Your garden is looking lovely with all the roses in bloom and different varieties. Ours are just beginning to open here in the north east. I too roses.
Your garden looks gorgeous, and is way ahead of mine. I too love roses. A happy time for me is sitting down with a cup of coffee and the David Austin catalogue....and then I dream!
Barbara, you really have a green thumb. The Garden is amazing, it is laid out beautifully. I am inspired, going back in my yard an weed, yvonne
The roses are beautiful and the garden looks lovely. You have done a lot of work and been rewarded with some gorgeous flowers! Nice to see your family as well. Blessings!
The roses are lively...I love the yellow and pink mix. I lost 3 rosebushes last year and 4 out of 5 hydrangea plants last Winter so am slowly trying to re plant.
How wonderful the roses are!
I have 3 rose bushes, they are so so. Your Garden is awesome. What's
the secret? Do you talk to them?
yvonne
Wonderful wonderful roses. You know I'll never tire of seeing them. Most look like David Austins so they probably have glorious fragrance as well. Beautiful!
I love roses, too! Yours are gorgeous! Roses of all types add something very special to a room or a yard.
