Back Home Again

Arrived back from Janie's last Thursday late afternoon and my first task was to pick some more blackcurrants in the garden so while there I snapped these shots. A week makes such a difference in a garden at this time of year. I am hoping to get on with some of the necessary jobs in the garden this week, there's lots of pruning to be done to the shrubs that have finished flowering and of course the never ending weeding. All dependent on the weather of course, today has been wet with several storms this afternoon, thunder and lightening and hail and quite cool. This time last week it was hitting the mid-eighties.

I do apologise that I have not yet had the opportunity to visit all my blogging friends but plan to do so as soon as I can this week. Life has been pretty busy since getting back, and we are also in the middle of 2 weeks consecutive nights at our House of Prayer. A time of prayer, praise and worship and waiting on God during this time of revival and outpouring in Lakeland, Florida.

I'll leave you with last week's garden and an interesting sky taken at 10:45 pm that same evening. My next post will feature our visit to Kew Gardens last week.

Looking wonderful and suitably seasonal.
I always like a garden when it's just ready for a tidy up.
Lots of potential for fun.

Looking forward to the pictures of Kew.

H Barbara,

Black current picking- I used to do that as a child. Thank you for bringing up a nice memory. It has been years since I thought of that.

Your garden is just beyond words. You can see the wonder of God in your flowers.

Have a wonderful week,
Barb

I could talk on an on. First of all, my all time favorite tea is Murchies Black Currant!! It has the best flavor and it takes me back to my frequent visits to Victoria. There is no Murchies in the States. I order on-line.
What do you do with your black currants? Pie? Jam? Are they wild or domestic?
Lakeland, Florida? My friend was talking about something going on down there for the past three months. Is it the same thing? What is the speakers name?
Prayer and praise every night for two weeks is amazing!! Can you walk to where you go?
Your roses are very pretty!! Our's are just now in full bloom and of course they will be done by July 19. The date of the wedding in our yard.
Blessings to you!

Oh lovely! I can just visualize exactly where each plant is in the garden.

I've been tidying up the garden here, too. I've filled two large bags with jasmine and camellia trimmings! And I still have three camellia bushes to go.

Black currant scones?

Your garden is looking lovely! Don't you love summer??? It's so hot here in Canada right now... much too hot for some of the plants, so I have had a garden umbrella over some of my newly planted flowers to stop them drooping too much!

Wow, what a beautiful garden. We are living in an upper floor flat at the moment, with no garden, so seeing pictures of your's is just lovely.

Thanks

What an amazing photographer you are--your pictures are so good, they hardly seem real. I'm not sure what I enjoy more, your flowers and skyline, or the photos of them.

Isn't it amazing how much things change in the garden in a weeks time? I love coming home to see the difference.

The garden looks showy and beautiful. Glad you had a safe trip.

Beautiful, Barbara. If only this rain would STOP. Apparently it is supposed to be like this all July and August. Though how they can know this so far ahead I do not know. I just want a little sun! And so do my flowers!

Wow your garden looks so lush, and it sounds like your spiritual garden is blooming right along too!

How wonderful for you, and your church.

I have been out of town and busy too...no worries!

What do you do with the currants? Your garden is so gorgeous, Barbara. My herbs died here. I've grown them for years. Oklahoma, is so hot I am going to have to relearn some things about gardening here.

What is the Lakeland, Florida connection? Did I miss something?

Ha! I'm having the same problem of getting around to visit everyone. I get cranky if I can't do it, too, so it's best if I can eke out some time and just go for it.

Beautiful photographs as always, dear one. Glad that you are home!
