It Really is Spring

It really is spring today with temperatures in the low 70's here in the
South East of England
What does this mean - it means lots of hard work
Because of rain, snow and flooding I have not been able to work in my garden
for at least 6 weeks
But today it has been weeding, digging, late pruning and
emptying lots of the herb garden ready for replanting
I'm taking a break after slogging for three and a half hours
and plan to do some more after finishing this post

I do like seeing things in the different light at different times of the day
These garden pics were taken this week in the early evening sun
This gives a much truer picture of colours rather than in the bright sun
which seems to lighten colours through glare

Last Thursday I spent the afternoon with a different kind of hard work
I went out and bought a new Wireless keyboard and mouse
This was to replace my existing one which had lost a lot of the letters from the keys
(just as well I can touch type)
and some of the keys were not connecting with a light touch
causing me to have to go back and re-type
When I got home the afternoon proceeded something like this
Loaded the new Microsoft software CD and unthinkingly unplugged the wireless receiver
from my old Logitech
No connection so no mouse or curser to install new microsoft
Reconnected Logitech and still no mouse or curser
For a second time I had to close down my computer with the boot switch
Unplugged the wireless receiver and hubby went up into the loft (roof)
and brought down the non-wireless keyboard and mouse that came with my current computer
Even though I did exactly what I needed to do it did not work
still no curser
Disconnected everything and started again
This time the Logitech stuff worked so
disconnected everything again and started from the beginning
installing the new Microsoft stuff
Did everything right and in the right sequence this time
No mouse or curser
Again shut down with boot switch and disconnected everything
Reconnected my old Logitech
Keyboard and mouse working
I do not have my new Microsoft Keyboard and mouse working but
at least I can use my computer
I will have to wait until my son has the time to pop over

This was certainly harder work than hours working in the garden
At least the garden is showing results!

Barbara, your garden is so pretty, especially the shot looking through and beyond the tree.

Oh boy, isn't that the way it goes with technology??!! So often something does not work the way it is supposed to the first two or three tries!

The garden looks beautiful. That tree is stunning!
I agree, I will take a day of hard work in the garden anyday compared to toiling with computer stuff. When I got my new computer and starting setting it up I was close to a migraine by the end of it.

Mistress Barbara, how does your garden grow? Beautifully, I think! Love all those photos. I am a Mac user, and I've never had that sort of difficulty with the Mac, but it sure must be a pain, and, yes, lost more work and frustration than gardening. You things will be in the mail sometime next week! Have a lovely weekend.

Barbara your garden is beautiful. I know what you mean about technology, I am hopeless. BTW I am in North East England and I'm very jealous our weather has been no where near 70 today.

Technology! Yuck! Your sad story left me shaking my head in total recognition. I have to wait for my techie niece to show up when I have troubles. When your son gets it all squared away, though, it'll be great!

Your garden looks so lovely for not having had much attention the past several weeks. It proves that a gardener has been at work earlier for certain. I remember that photo of you out in the garden awhile ago.

The temps are about the same here. Great!

This pink blooming tree is indeed very beautiful and it also has an interesting form! Today I also had the chance to work - finally - in the garden as the sun was shining. We had a rather long rainy period. Isn't it wonderful to have sons who can help with computer techniques?! I would be completely lost without him, I have to confess!
Have a nice Sunday!

Oh dear! Dont you just hate computers?
I have been garening too, and put out all the geraniums, now that we hope the last frost has been and gone.
What lovely photos of your garden.,

Sounds like lovely weather and yes, working in the garden to get in back into shape is lots of work. Computers that don't work can be so frustrating. I don't have a clue how to make them work when they're being stubborn!
hugs!

Computer stuff drives me crazy. It's always something very simple that you have to be a computer genius to figure out. At least you have control of your garden.

Barbara, your garden is absolutely beautiful! And do not speak to me re keyboards and the like which refuse to do what they are supposed to do. Do you know what a class I was teaching did last week? They swapped all the letters about on the computer kepboards in a room of 30 computers. I happened to see one which had 15 "h"s on it, so realised. It took me an hour to redo the lot.

I'll take the physical work any day over the frustrations that computers can bring. GRRRR!

Your garden looks so pretty. The colors are wonderful.

oh my computer stuff...glad my hubby takes care of all that.

Got to love your persistence.

I am loving the flowering tree.

Looks like a crab apple...it seems to rule well over your lovely garden.
