Bits and Pieces on May Day

I have fond memories of May day when I was a child and how different life was.
I remember one particular year when I was about 8. There was a May procession for the children in the road and I was chosen to be the May Queen leading the procession.
Previous to the day the children sat outside our house selling things we had made and anything that we could get our hands on that was no longer wanted. In other words a 1940's garage sale for the kids.
We then used this money for a little party in the street.
How I wish there were photos but there was no such luxury during the war.

Back to modern days and a wedding card that I made for a friend's daughter last week.

My new i-pad Pro purchased on Saturday. It has taken some time but I now have all 80 plus apps from my old one installed and running.
Alan will have my old one and as he has never had one before there will be new learning curves for him.

I was just thinking how quickly time flies when coming across this picture when going through my computer albums.
Having a quick lunch in Marks and Spencer last December with our friends Don & Joyce from Louisiana. I first met Joyce as a fellow blogger and this was their third visit.

Lastly but not least Oliver and Rebekah having made it to the centre of the Hampton Court Maze last week.
Rebekah now 8 and Oliver 11 in July.

First week of September

The perfume in the house is wonderful with the September roses dotted around
The reason for the map on the table is because we are off tomorrow for a late Summer holiday
We do use the Sat Nav but I still like a map for those times when I want to see just where I am
We are off to Cornwall so I am sure there will be some great photos
We will be staying on a farm in a beautiful new 5 star barn conversion

I enjoyed making this card for a recent wedding

and love the sunsets at this time of year

I thought I'd leave you with some pics of a public garden we just happened to pass in South East London in the Spring

It's Spring in my Garden with some Changes

Well just one more sleep till the carpet fitters are here!
It has been a long 5/6 weeks decorating and keeping the home running along with our regular commitments, not to mention the garden.
I am seriously not looking forward to the chore of getting everything back in it's place as our stuff is spread around so much upstairs as well as some stored in neighbours homes. However I am looking forward to seeing it all finished. That probably won't be until some time next week as we have our daughter and family coming over Good Friday (will be wonderful to see Oliver and Rebekah) and being Easter weekend there is much on church wise.
I am tired!
I guess it will be another week before a reasonable chill out as I have dentist, osteopath and we have another Christian Spectrum conference.

The new look in my garden in the early evening sun.
Gone are all the central shrub beds - replaced with another rose bed and some grassed over.
I like being able to see to the bottom of the garden.

and now a few days later looking through the window framed with my new curtains

and a day later with blue skies

Glad I caught this reflection of what looks like a tree indoors!

Maybe I will be able to get on with some gardening while the carpet fitters are doing their bit.

And finally a happy 15th wedding anniversary to daughter Jane and Chris her husband.
It was good to take a break and make a few cards too.

For those who were not familiar with my garden before!

It's Christmas! - Along with Secret Santa

Decorations are up
Colour not good but so behind with Christmas preps, I decided not to play around with camera settings

Still lots of cards to make
At least the ones for posting have gone
My theme this year had 'Peace and Hope' on the front
with 'Joy' on the inside.

Secret Santa came and went Sunday evening
Ken's wife tagged him on Facebook with this photo
Said it reminded her of many years ago!
Our youngest member - 3 weeks old!
As you can see we have a very wide range of ages in our
house church.
Especially when everyone is here.
We are missing a family of 5 who are out in Australia with
YWam and some who are not well with seasonal bugs.

We will be altogether with the other house churches next Sunday for our joint Christmas celebration

I am hoping to post again before Christmas but just in case, I send Greetings to all readers and hope it is a Blessed time for you.
