Second Week in June

The changing face of the garden

What can be more 'June' than strawberry picking.
Gone are the days when one struggled on hands and knees
Now the strawberries are grown in growbags at chest height

Lucky for us they are chest height. Neither myself or HH would be able to pick from the ground very long, or at least we think we can't. The garden is so beautiful. Love the feelings I get when looking at the works of God's blessings to us.

Looks lovely in your garden. That bit of rain today after a lovely day will do it good I think.

Our strawberries aren't ready yet. Must be lack of sun. Mine in the garden are a couple of weeks away at least.

We live in an area known for strawberry crops and they grow them with large trenches on both sides so that the pickers can walk down the aisles without much bending. What are grow bags?

The garden looks so colorful right now. Don't you love it?

Barbara, I was doing really good until I got to the Strawberries. They look so colorful and delicious. Now it's time for me to go to bed and I am going to be thinking about them. I hate that because when that happens I am not satisfied until I get it. Arrrrrr.

My mouth watered at your strawberries. Your garden is looking so beautiful. I was sat in the garden yesterday stuffing doll limbs when the smell of philadelphus kept wafting over. Lovely!

Barbara, those pictures are beautiful - they remind me of when my best friend, Mum and gardner elect was around to enjoy all her free time making the garden in my old house look just as amazing!

The strawberries look good too!

What a pleasure to stroll through your garden today and to wind up with strawberries! The colors of your roses are gorgeous and so complementary to each other. (I do hope we get some strawberries this season. It's too wet and cold for them for a bit longer I'm afraid.)
