Kingston Lacy, Dorset (Part 3)

Having wandered around the house we will now have a walk around the formal gardens by way of the marble staircase built between 1663 and 1665

The back of the house

and side

The Maple garden

and Fernery

I have added a bit more information on the last 2 posts on the house having found the notes I made at the time on a scrap of paper
Our visit was in 2013 and I could hardly read my scribbles
Hope you enjoyed the visit

Beautiful gardens. I love the last one with the ground covered with ferns.

I love the fernery and I've always wanted my very own circular seat around a tree trunk.

I like those first photos of the marble stairway leading onto the views of the formal gardens. I always enjoy wandering along those winding paths in the woodlands when visiting country houses. The ironwork bench seat would be a welcome place to sit for a while after a tour around the house.

Thank you for a marvelous tour of this home and it's gardens. Part one was a great place to start, then upstairs and journeying on to the grounds. Being a fern lover, I could almost feel myself walking beside them.
Very lovely Barbara.

All those green ferns look so lovely. And I like the little sheep topiary too. But of course, as I'm sure you guessed, my favorite is the archway looking out at the distant gardens.

Hi Barbara, I love the pictures very much. The gardens, the house, the topiary dog, the fernery, the bench around the tree is a perfect place to sit, to think, to relax. Everything is lovely!!

Thank you for sharing all your beautiful trips and the places you see! I found your blog last year and have thoroughly enjoyed your travels. As an American who would live to see England, you give me a peek into something I'm fascinated with and may never get to experience firsthand.
