Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Recently having done some shopping followed by lunch in Westfield Mall, we decided to have a walk around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
This park is being developed  for public use around some of the facilities that were built for the Olympics.

Here we see the Aquadrome

This photo from website

The Arcelor Mittal Orbit
The UK's tallest Sculpture at 114.5 metres
There is a great view of London from the top and at one point one can see the view upside down
The large circle on the left is a restaurant
Choose the lift or the over 400 steps!

here the main Stadium

The canal that runs through the site

A water feature

Looking back at the Westfield shopping centre

Are they really comfortable to relax in!

the swing seat wasn't too bad and yes I did shop in
 Marks and Spencer

a wide expanse of gardens being developed

and play areas for the children

Will be interesting over the months to see how it all develops

This is wonderful how to use these fantastic structures for the park.
I hope the restaurant is open after 400 steps. Hope you enjoy this Summer. Thanks so much for this adventure. yvonne

It is so nice to see the Olympic buildings being used and maintained.

It looks as if it will make for wonderful spaces. The playgrounds will keep young families busy and happy.

It always seems so wasteful to tear down Olympic Villages... Looks like the UK is making a destination... a fun place - near the shopping - what a good idea. A place for a vacation right near home.
Hope it works out for your investors.

It's so nice that they are going to put them to such a visitor friendly use now that they Olympics are finished.

It is looking a bit severe at the moment. I look forward to seeing more photos from you as the site develops ;-)

It seems that the Olympics have left you a lovely legacy that will be enjoyed by many in the years ahead. I'm so glad! Thanks for showing us, Barbara.

It's good to see the Olympic facilities being used. So many around the world are empty and unused. A park where families can go is a great idea.

Looks like a place one could do a lot of good walking and not get bored with the scenery.
