The Quayside Faversham Pt. 3

Faversham lies at the mouth of an inlet on the River Swale which flows into the Thames Estuary from the South side. We live on the North side.

A number of barges are moored at the quayside
Alan being an ex-Merchant Navy man takes an interest in any kind of boat

As always these days old warehouses are turned into various places to encourage the tourists to spend money
Here we have antique, Bric-a-Brac, art studio etc. with a small plant shop in the centre

The garden shop tearoom was OK but not sure about the
Scarecrow at the entrance!

My husband is always drawn to boats, too, and he became a leisure sailor just a few years ago! I don't find the scarecrow very welcoming.

Charlie looks as if he's seen better days! LOL!

Now I am so intrigued by whatever Alan is looking at. First I thought he was reading an informational sign, but, no, it's a box. Then I saw it again a bit later on and it appears to be a way for the boat to charge its batteries? Is that even possible?

Don't you love readers like me who ask the tough questions?

The Scarecrow is something the Crazy Hollywood set would do.
Nuts, I watch TV and just can't get over how people act today.
This town is a place I would love to investagate. The brickwork in England is wonderful. I wish those men that built the houses were building our roads. The contractors cut corners and pocket our tax money. A new road may
last 2-3 years.

How I loved Enid Blyton who is an excellent story teller
however PC or not......
I loved the Famous Five ans was in love with Julian and wanted to be the boy'girl George.
At school we took books from the library.
'A' books were considered to have some merit.
"B' books were just for fun.....
you could take out 2 'A' books or an A and a B
but NEVER 2 B books.
Guess what category Enid Blyton was in.....!!!

I like the old warehouse.
Alex would love the Albert Dock in Liverpool. Have you ever been? There is also a boat museum at Ellesmere Port but I am ashamed to say despite it only being ten miles away I've never been to it.It's on my list for this year.

I see what you mean about the scarecrow, although that is the most debonaire scarecrow I've ever seen - so well dressed!

We have friends that go over every years to sail a boat on the river. Wish we could afford it. Beautiful. I am such an Anglophile. Love your photos.
