Just behind Chesil Beach we have the Sub-Tropical Gardens
Sheltered as it is on the side of a hill, it has it's own mini-climate
I like the way the ferns are naturalising and growing our of the
felled tree trunk
Part f the Australian sub-tropical
The Bothy which is now a tool store but the place where the gardeners slept in days gone by in the winter to make sure the green houses were kept heated
Now it is time for tea and I like the Old Colonial style verandas
around the restaurant
playing with reflections again
empty now as it is almost closing time
but there are still plenty of cakes to be had
and we did have an enjoyable fish lunch here midday
What a lovely shady place to walk around and enjoy. You always find a good place to eat at your stops too. Glad you had such a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a jungle! Irecognize a lot of the plants from here in CA. Thanks for sharing.

That is a unique garden...it looks much different from the gardens you usually feature. Very interesting about the bothy.
ReplyDeleteThis is hard to believe, a tropical
ReplyDeletegarden, England gets so cold. Now I see,
they must move that banana
tree to a green house. Beautiful.
I love your trips.. yvonne
It looks like a lovely place to visit :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have so many lovely gardens where you live. Interesting about The Bothy. And tea and cakes at the end...I would love to join you :)

A really lovely series of photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely plants - very jungly. There are yards here with palm trees and banana plants, too, but I find them incongruous in our landscape. I never imagined that they would grow in England either.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Barbara, a lot like a rain forest. You have a Blessed week, Trisha
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt's always so surprising to see palm trees and tropical plantings in England but that just goes to show that there can be mini-climates in unexpected places wherever one goes.
