Can't believe it is January already, having taken these photos in September.
This was one of the gardens we visited while in the Cotswolds
These gardens were created by the American horticulturist Major Lawrence Johnston in 1907
Hidcote is famous for it's rare trees and shrubs, outstanding herbacious borders
and unusual plants from all over the world.
The garden is divided by tall hedges and walls to create a series of
outdoor 'rooms' each with its own special and unique character
It was certainly a place you could easily get lost in
So here are just a few of the photos I took
What lovely photos. It's nice to look at summer photos when it's cold and wintery out! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, so nice to see green and flowers. That last view looking toward Wales is marvelous. Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures with us.
ReplyDeleteHope that the New Year is treating you right so far!
P.S. Hope that we might catch a glimpse of your little grandson wearing the hat and mittens that you made for him.
Oh that is beautiful! i love all the photos but the last is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures and this garden are so beautiful! I really like the green walls, even though I couldn't have them in my garden;)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful place, and your photos are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had visited a few gardens while in England. Your photos give me a reason to make another trip.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful and lovely are all the gardens.

Thanks for the empathy, but you have the most lovely eyebrows!
ReplyDeleteWent over to your dd's blog and found Oliver right there looking so adorable in his new hat and scarf. What a dollface he is!
Wonderful pictures Barbara....Hidcote Manor reminds me so much of Bellingrath Gardens in Alabama.....
ReplyDeleteHope your year is going great...Betty
thanks so much for posting the picures of the flowers, I really needed that! I am in a winter wonderland right now.
ReplyDeletesigh...such a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteDid you get my email? I sent you one and am hoping it went through ok.
And thanks for your prayers for our family.
I recognized Hidcote from the first picture, with that beautiful old tree? The pictures are lovely, but they just can't capture the elegance and vista of that place. I loved all the little peeks just beyond the garden you get of the country side. Did you also visit Kiftsgate next door?
ReplyDeleteI frankly can't get enough of you English gardens!
I might have to post some of mine now…so lovely!
what beautiful scenery. I just love to look at gardens.
ReplyDeleteOne could get lost in that beauty!!!! Such a delight to my eyes today as we continue to look out at all the broken limbs piled up around our area from the ice storm :o(

Ahhh, how beautiful! I have a hard time finding anyplace in England that isn't beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to look at blooming gardens and warm sunshine while the rain drips and the wind howls.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Barbara, may this year be filled with God's blessings.
One day I would love to come to England only to visit your neautiful gardens.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely visit to Hidcote gardens. It's exactly what I needed this morning! I'm missing the flowers on this very snowy day!
ReplyDeleteI hope your day is lovely!

I love this National Trust Garden and have enjoyed some super typically ‘English picnics’ at the wonderful plays performed on the Theatre Lawn. Marion
