Come walk with me around the picturesque town of Faversham
Just about every house and shop is different
into the town shopping area
Town square
Built in 1570
Interesting alleyways
Preparing for some event
built 1697
The design feature on the wall is called Pargeting
Great cakes in the cake shop
and fresh meat in the butchers
Wool shop
and a pub
and craft shop
I am keeping the second hand bookshop for a separate post
The Market place
I love the lavender planted along the pavement edge
The Parish church
interesting cushion
the old town pump
I forgot to take photographs of the art gallery where we ate lunch
I love to see half-timbered houses. We have very few in this part of the world.
ReplyDeleteLaversham looks like such an interesting old town Barbara.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you've continued your series of old English towns with all the history.
We enjoyed spending time visiting some when in the UK , but missed out on this one as we didn't visit Kent this time.
I have been to Sissinghurst garden in Kent on a previous trip!!!

Barbara, these photos are fantastic. What a photogenic place! I don't know how large it is, but I wish the downtowns of our smaller towns in the US were thriving like they seem to do in England. (Perhaps I'm mistaken?) Finally, after nearly 30 years of abandonment, our town's Main Street is beginning to come back to life, though. Thanks for sharing your travels and touring with us! Love your blog! Bess
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Love the Parish Church and old town pump.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Trisha
Wonderful! I might want to live there :)
ReplyDeleteWe have visited there and it is a charming town. You captured it perfectly with gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara, it was wonderful going through them all in large format, one after the other. So much to see.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely town. Everything looks so neat and well kept there. I especially enjoyed the picture taken of the church. A 2nd hand book store is always a favorite place for a visit for me. I'll be looking forward to seeing the one there.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, Barbara!
ReplyDeleteGreat Post! I love the cakes, the wool shop, and the cushion!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite photo is the one of the church tower at the end of the narrow street. Love the perspective. Another charming English town. Delightful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your pictures, Barbara. Love going places with you.
ReplyDeleteHugs
