Behind My Life

I do not make New Year resolutions but felt it wise to remind myself of this poem and share it here with you.

Behind my life, the Weaver stands
And works His wonderous Will.
I leave it in His all-wise hand
And trust His perfect skill.

Should mystery enshroud His plan
And my short sight be dim,
I will not try the whole to scan,
But leave each thread with Him.

Not till the loom is silent,
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unfold the pattern
And explain the reason why.

The dark threads were as needful
In the Master's skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern which He planned.

  9. It is a very nice poem and one I've not heard before. It reminds me of Corrie ten Boom's analogy of the work upon the loom. It's those dark threads that are concerning for sure, yet we can know that He is going to finish the work He has begun.

  10. Just a thought about the hyacinth bulbs. You could force them inside for some wonderful scent and color right now. I just put my bulbs on some rocks or clear marbles and add water just touching the bottom of the bulb.
No fuss or mess with potting soil. Then when the weather permits I plop them in the ground. It may take them a year or two to recover though.

More snow due tomorrow up here. Trade is slow as most people are staying home- pavements are very icy.
