To Leigh-on-Sea for a Week

I made these two cards for friends birthdays this week.
We are now off to spend a week at our friends home at Leigh-on-Sea while they are in France.
Summer seems to have arrived at last. The Jet Stream that normally sits over Iceland at this time of year has been sitting over the UK. It has now moved apparently and we are having good weather.
I will be visiting you all while away on my friends computer but I will not be posting myself. Hope everyone has a good week.

These are some of the second flush of roses that I will be leaving behind. Well at least I will be cutting them to give to neighbours before I leave.

This is where we stay (ground floor only)

And this is the view from the window

  11. Glad you are getting fine weather at long last. The boats at anchor look amazing and make me homesick for Torquay - will be there in October!!
Have a wonderful holiday - nothing like an English seaside break.

  12. Those pictures of Leigh-on-Sea make me feel very nostalgic. I used to go their with my father when I was a little girl when he wanted to get new sails for our boat.
Have a lovely time and give my love to the lovely Thames Estuary mud!

  22. Hi - i have just moved to leigh-on-sea from westcliff and i feel i have come home as my grandparents lived here during the 60's and 70's.back then leigh wasn't trendy fashionable! it was a very quiet fishing village and the most exciting thing that happened on sundays was when the salvation army played outside our house!leigh also used to have it's own carnival which ,as a child , i found the most wonderful experience and i still have footage of this from my dads old cine camera! x
